Activity.
One unit will hydrolyze 1µmole of hippuryl-L-phenylalanine at pH 7.7 at 25°C. The substrate buffer is 0.025 M Tris pH 7.7, 0.1 M NaCl, 1 mM hippuryl-L-phenylalanine. E= 0.36 of 1mM HLP.Activity 12-18 units per mg of protein.
