Free of trypsin, chymotrypsin, lipase, alpha-amylase and the carboxypeptidases.
Prepared by chromatography of the euglobin fraction of porcine pancreas. Euglobin prepared by the method of Lewis et al. (30). The same chromatographic procedure is used as for preparation of Elastase-High Purity, EPC No. EC134. After chromatography, the high specific activity fraction is twice crystallized. The crystalline elastase has the same electrophoretic and purity characteristics as EPC No. EC134.
